Rising healthcare costs.
As we face an increasingly ageing population, more people are or become long-term patients in need of medical care. Rising population income, living standards, and prices for healthcare services increasing at record speed ultimately result in steadily growing healthcare expenses.

We want to counteract the issue of inequities in global health, we want to make quality healthcare accessible to everyone. One way to approach this is to develop and implement AI-based technologies into our healthcare systems. With this, it is possible to reduce costs that are associated with healthcare delivery and by that, make quality healthcare more accessible, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Increasing data.
It is estimated that medical knowledge is doubling every 73 days. At some point, very soon, dealing with these amounts of data will become inhuman and demanding something a human brain is simply not capable of.
We need to embrace AI technologies that can help us dealing with these amounts of data.
